Part-time: 17.5 hours per week

Fixed-term: 18 August 2025 - 31 July 2026

The Opportunity

The Project Support Officer (AHDP) role will contribute to the administration, organisation, and delivery of the Access to High Demand Professions (AHDP) project, within the University’s Widening Participation team.

The Project Support Officer will provide key administrative, organisational, and event delivery support to Access to Creative Education Scotland (ACES) Edinburgh and Reach Edinburgh projects. The post holder will facilitate events, including the Portfolio Preparation programme on Fridays.

The role will occasionally support wider team and departmental outreach and recruitment activities.

This role is designed to enable those with an interest in Widening Participation to develop valuable skills and experience within a busy and creative team supporting school pupils from the most underrepresented backgrounds to progress into Higher Education.

We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and wish to particularly encourage applications from candidates from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds as well as backgrounds that the AHDP projects support.

Skills and attributes for success

* You have an understanding of, and empathy for, the student groups targeted within Widening Participation programmes.
* You are a team player who strives to support colleagues as well as external audiences.
* Very good written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office packages.

The successful candidate will support the ACES Portfolio Preparation Programme and work most Fridays from 13:00 to 17:30 between 06/09/2025 and 24/01/2026.
