My client was established in the 1930s and is a world leader in delivering quality electrical solutions for military applications and its equipment and systems that can be found in a broad range of applications across the globe.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for the creation of new CAD and the modification and improvement of existing 2D and 3D CAD, fabrication drawings, BOMs and other manufacturing data. Additionally, you will be required to work closely with the electrical engineers and SMEs for the generation of 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings and manufacturing data to support new designs of electro-mechanical products.
What we would like from the Mechanical Design Engineer:
Degree qualified or HNC/HND with relevant experience
Minimum of 5 years of design experience in mechanical design, product development and manufacturing
Proficient with 3D modelling and 2D detailed drafting on Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to design high-quality models, detailed BOMs and fully documented manufacturing data-packs
Sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing, with an excellent understanding of design techniques
Experience designing to critical standards, regulatory, legislative and industry standards
Analysis, e.g. FEA, CFD, etc., using hand calculations and associated software tools, ideally Inventor NASTRAN
What we offer the Mechanical Design Engineer:
Salary between £40,000 to £50,000
25 days annual leave Bank Holidays
Flexible working based on core hours
Working hours are 8.15am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.15am to 12.30pm on Friday
Company group personal pension scheme the company pays 4%, and the employee pays 4%
Death in service benefit equating to 3 times basic salary, eligible after 3 months of service
