Job summary The volunteering services coordinator will support the day-to-day management of volunteers at each site. This includes leading on the recruitment and on-boarding of new volunteers, helping to embed volunteers into key roles and supporting with ongoing training and development needs, being the first point of contact for volunteer queries and supporting the site managers with reporting. The volunteering services coordinator will need to be comfortable working autonomously and using their own initiative, but also be an effective team player. You will have a positive approach to volunteers and have an empathetic and friendly nature. Main duties of the job Ensure all volunteers are managed on a day to day basis, making judgements which require analysis on a variety of volunteer and administrative problems. To be the first point of contact for any volunteering queries that come through to the hub from services and locations in the hospital. Liaising with and fielding requests from wards and departments for volunteers, scoping opportunities for new volunteer roles that fall outside of the strategic model and supporting departments with developing specifications for these, to present to the volunteering site managers. Actively work with the volunteering site managers to increase recruitment, representation and retention of volunteers from ethnic minority groups, those with a declared disability and those with a refugee status. Ensure the Better Impact solution is up to date and support the volunteering site managers with reporting requests.The Volunteering Services Coordinator will need to be confident working autonomously and using their own initiative, while also being an effective team player.
