Job Purpose
As Finance and Corporate Services Lead, you will develop and lead the Business Support Team, providing high-quality services to staff, volunteers, and Trustees. You will shape the organisation's financial strategy, including planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Responsibilities include producing management accounts, year-end accounts for audits, supporting payroll and pensions, KPI monitoring, and developing costing methodologies. You will act as a strategic partner, collaborating internally and externally. Proficiency in Excel, Workday Adaptive Planning, Xero, and VAT management is essential.
Key Objectives
Leadership and Management: Lead and develop a dynamic team supporting the charity’s infrastructure, fostering growth through volunteering and learning. Collaborate on organisational change, workforce planning, and business improvement, supporting digital transformation and sustainability goals.
Strong Governance: Work with the CEO and Board to ensure effective systems and practices reflecting good governance. Provide leadership on legal and statutory responsibilities to ensure resource efficiency and effectiveness.
Development and Growth: Work with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities aligned with the Strategic Plan. Contribute to income generation plans to support sustainable income, aiming for 60% from unrestricted sources.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Provide strategic financial leadership, supporting long-term business planning.
* Prepare annual budgets and support funding applications.
* Monitor grant income and prepare claims.
* Ensure adherence to finance policies and regulations.
* Prepare management accounts and collaborate on year-end accounts.
* Lead compliance with legal and statutory obligations.
* Manage procurement and contractual relationships.
* Champion digital technology and support organisational change.
* Embed a performance management culture and develop policies and procedures.
* Support the Board and CEO in achieving organisational goals.
* Foster positive engagement with staff and external partners.
* Support and deputise for the CEO as needed.
* Perform other duties as appropriate.
