Milk Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Maidenhead to recruit Psychology graduates for Learning Support Assistant (LSA) roles. This opportunity offers invaluable experience for those exploring a future in Educational Psychology or related fields, such as Speech and Language Therapy or Mental Health Support.

LSA – The Role: What to Expect
You will be supporting children and young people aged 4–16 with Autism and associated neurodivergent needs in a structured and therapeutic school environment. Key responsibilities include:
1. Working closely with pupils across the autism spectrum, from those with high-functioning needs to those requiring more complex support.
2. Supporting individuals with co-occurring neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, OCD, and social communication challenges.
3. Encouraging emotional regulation and academic engagement using evidence-informed approaches.
4. Collaborating with in-house therapists and SEN specialists, including Speech & Language, Occupational, Art, Music, and Drama Therapists.
5. Observing therapeutic interventions and gaining insight into multi-disciplinary educational support practices.
6. Applying practical strategies derived from educational and behavioural psychology.
7. Supporting personal care routines, where necessary, to ensure holistic care.
Who We’re Looking For

8. Hold a degree in Psychology (or a closely related discipline).
9. Have a sincere interest in pursuing a career in Educational Psychology or related mental health/education fields.
10. Are compassionate, patient, and naturally curious about how children learn and develop.
11. Are reflective and resilient, able to manage the emotional and practical challenges of working in a SEN setting.
12. Can commit to the full academic year, providing consistency and building meaningful relationships with pupils and staff.
