JOB PURPOSE The purpose of the Deployable Regional Unit will enhance Human Performance and contribute to the Moral & Physical Components of Fighting Power through the provision, organisation and supervision of the Physical Development trinity of Physical Education and Fitness, Sport and Adventurous Training in deployed and FGen spaces, contributing to Live Well and Work Well so that RN personnel are physically and mentally fit to fight and win whilst simultaneously being a Retention Positive force for good. The SGT RM (ATI) is directly accountable to DRU (N) CPOPT to provide Adventurous Training and Challenging Activities support and facilitation on behalf of the RN Deployable Regional Unit and HM Naval Base Clyde. The role is required to liaise with SO2AT and AT1 (TEM) for assurance and compliance, providing reports/feedback for the delivery of AT within the Northern Region, iaw PDev policy, and also accountable to IPTRM regarding PT compliance. PRINCIPAL TASKS Implement the Adventurous Training and Challenging Activities aspects of the PDev Strategic Framework intent with the Northern Region and Deployable tasking, in conjunction with JSP 419 and BRd 51. To be the SGT RM (ATI), and where qualified, facilitate distributed training at all levels iaw current regulations to help grow instructors and leaders. Provide advice and guidance on AT Courses iaw JSAT Scheme; including SME support for DRU (N) and Naval Base AT Expeds, on all organisational aspects iaw documentation. Co-ordinate all Northern Region and Naval Base AT/CA in collaboration with DRU (N) PT Staff to ensure a regular and varied programme considers all 10 recognised and 4 CALA and 4 approved SAA based activities. Ensure the AT Centre equipment is safe and suitable for delivery. Delegated financial responsibility for AT Funding for approved AT/CA activity, including ePC expenditure. Responsible for the safety aspects and maintenance iaw current regulations for the HMNB Clyde Climbing Wall. Compile weekly and quarterly reports on DRU (N) and Naval Base AT delivery. Inspect, service and maintain, including repair of all AT kit and equipment, ensuring all PPE is safe and suitable for delivery, and safety checks are complete iaw manufacturer’s guidelines, holding the relevant qualifications as required. Act as a MT Officer to assist with transportation of personnel conducting AT activities, as required, including the administration of AT vehicles. Liaise with DIO and external agencies (Landowners) for obtaining Land Clearance and AT facilitation. Carry out duties and responsibilities of a SGT RM as detailed in Establishment Standing Orders extraneous to those required of a PT as directed by the DRU (N) WO (PT), CPOPT, or NBCC Exec Cmd. In addition, qualify as a Naval Base Duty SR and fulfil duties iaw with the roster. Undertake additional tasking commensurate with the grade as directed by Line Management as necessary. AUTHORITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Post Holder is authorised to liaise with both Internal and External Departments, Organisations and Companies on behalf of CPOPT in direct relation to the Tasks outlined in Section 3 of the ToRRs. Health and Safety and Security The post holder has a personal legal responsibility for their own health and safety and that of others who might be harmed by their actions or omissions. Staff are required to cooperate with their Employer and others on health and safety and not to interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety or welfare. In addition, as a Nuclear Authorised and Licensed Site, all staff are to give due priority to safety. All staff are required to prevent harm to the environment, which can be achieved by minimising waste, using the recycling facilities provided, turning off unwanted heating and lighting, reporting water leaks and preventing pollution of the water, land and air. Causing or knowingly permitting a pollution incident could result in a breach of legislation as well as causing harm to the environment. Postholders have a responsibility to be aware of the security implications of their actions on themselves and others. Staff are required to cooperate with their Employer by demonstrating good security behaviours through maintaining personal security clearances, in date Naval Base passes and mandatory security training. All staff are required to challenge poor security behaviours and report these and any suspicious activities to the Naval Base security forces.
