Your new role
As Electrical Maintenance Contract Manager, you will take responsibility for the management and administration of electrical maintenance contracts across a large and varied estate. This will include planned and reactive maintenance,pliance activities, minor works and lifecycle replacement programmes.You will ensure that all electrical services are delivered safely,pliantly and in line with statutory regulations, organisational policies and recognised industry standards. The role involves managing contractor performance, leading procurement and tendering exercises, and maintaining accurate financial,pliance and performance records.Working closely with internal stakeholders across Estates, Capital Projects and Health & Safety, you will provide technical guidance, support operational decision‑making and contribute to service improvement initiatives. You will also act as an Authorised Person for designated electrical systems and participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota, taking senior responsibility for estate‑wide incidents when required.The role includes supervisory responsibility, a focus on customer service excellence, and a strong contribution to sustainability, equality and inclusive working practices.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need a strong technical backgroundbined with proven experience of managing electrical services within aplex estates or facilities environment. You should be able to demonstrate:
1. Degree‑level qualifications or equivalent professional experience in electrical engineering or a related discipline
2. Significant experience managing electrical maintenance and engineering systems across large,plex estates ( higher education, healthcare, public sector or facilities management)
3. A strong track record of tendering, negotiating and managing electrical maintenance contracts
4. In‑depth knowledge of electricalpliance and legislation, including BS7671 and the Electricity at Work Regulations
5. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Inspection & Testing (2391) certification
6. Authorised Person (AP) training for High Voltage electrical installations
7. Experience of contractor performance management, audits, KPI reporting and health & safetyernance
8. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
9. Excellent organisational,munication and stakeholder management skills
10. Awareness of equality legislation and amitment to inclusive working practices
