Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Geriatric Consultant based in Birmingham. The Geriatric Consultant will be responsible for managing the medical care of elderly patients, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Day-to-day tasks include conducting patient assessments, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and monitoring patient progress. The role also involves educating patients and their families about health management and preventive care. The consultant will participate in case reviews, research activities, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Expertise in Geriatric Medicine, including patient assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
* Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
* Ability to educate and provide guidance on health management and preventive care
* Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
* Medical degree and certification in Geriatric Medicine
* Experience in research and case reviews is a plus
* Dedication to working on-site at the Birmingham location
