Exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant motivated to provide high‑quality care on the Cardiology Ward at Gloucester Royal Hospital NHS Trust.
The Cardiology ward is busy and unpredictable, requiring compassionate, patient‑centred nursing care. The successful candidate will work in a progressively changing environment, promoting Trust values and upholding high standards of service delivery. You will be supervised by the qualified nursing team to assist with high‑quality services.
Cardiology is a 25‑bed unit (8 Coronary Care beds, 17 step‑down beds) receiving patients from the Emergency Department, Acute Medical ward, and other tertiary centres post‑operation. You will help transfer patients to and from other departments, such as the Cath Lab for cardiac procedures, and develop your cardiac knowledge.
Main duties of the job
Shift patterns include days and nights. You will be expected to undertake key roles that help the department run smoothly, including:
* Assist in meeting service delivery targets.
* Provide excellent communication, listening skills and demonstrate strong teamwork.
* Use IT skills to input data into the electronic patient record system.
* Support the smooth operation of the cardiology ward under the direct supervision of registered nurses.

Person specification
Qualifications
* GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
* Previous health‑care experience in an acute setting.
Knowledge and Experience
* Ability to effectively and appropriately raise concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety.
* Resilience and the ability to work in a changing environment.
* Good record‑keeping using the Trust’s electronic and paper methods.
* A willingness to learn and develop new skills and abilities.
