Flood and Coastal Risk Management Advisor Portfolio Management Office - 31252
This role in the National Portfolio Management Office will support allocating funding within our wider investment portfolio to ensure resources are effectively directed towards achieving flood outcomes. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members and external partners, seeking technical input, and working with local teams to manage allocations. The role also involves ensuring proper management of programmes and supporting activities to improve outcomes, particularly in developing new working methods for a new investment programme starting in April 2026.

The key duties include:
* Supporting analysis of FCRM programme data to inform future allocation decisions
* Presenting information, risks, and issues to senior managers and boards
* Serving as a technical lead for allocation and funding
* Leading portfolio management activities
* Responding to technical queries through incident and daily tasks
* Supporting and managing the FCRM Refresh process
The role is based in the FCRM directorate within the Portfolio Management Assurance and Commercial department. The team allocates funding to FCRM investment programmes and manages performance to meet corporate goals, working with various stakeholders within the EA and Defra. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, emphasizing development, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate experience in methodical working, data management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with FCRM, programming, or portfolio management is desirable but not essential.
This is a hybrid role, with no fixed location, requiring self-motivation and occasional travel to Birmingham and London. All staff must undertake training and participate in incident response duties as part of their role. Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams before 15 July.
