Your Role
You will play a pivotal role in pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying (QS) services, including estimating, procurement, and cost & commercial management assurance across various projects. Responsibilities may include delivering QS projects, leading teams, training, bid writing, and representing WSP at industry events.
Your Team
You will join a diverse team of Quantity Surveyors working across sectors such as highways, structures, public realm, property, and maritime. You will be part of our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), which provides services to both public and private clients. Your office could be in Manchester, Birmingham, Teesside, Bristol, or Guildford, all located conveniently near public transport and amenities.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* MRICS qualification
* Experience with estimating, procurement, and commercial management at various design stages
* Proficiency with software like CostX and CEMAR
* Leadership and project delivery experience in cost or commercial roles
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and manage time effectively
* Knowledge of NEC Contracts and other industry-standard contracts
* Flexibility to travel as needed
Desirable
* Experience in water and energy sectors
* Working towards or holding relevant professional qualifications (e.g., AcostE, CICES)
* Higher education qualifications
