Our Rail Advisory Team is growing its Rail Asset Management capability. Our team is growing, working across infrastructure enhancements, new build railways & metros, rolling stock and depots. To continue this growth we are looking to appoint a Rail Asset Management Lead to help develop our business and support the leadership and development of our people. We are providing advisory and consultancy services to our clients, in how to plan and implement asset management, utilise and optimise the use of asset data embracing the use of AI and machine learning in managing rail assets. As the Rail Lead you will act as a focal point for developing and delivering this work, overseeing and supporting the technical development of our people. You will be providing technical leadership to our teams and projects, utilising your knowledge to lead / direct our engagement on projects and to clients. You will be expected to take a leading role in delivering on our projects directing, supporting and coaching people involved in delivering rail asset management projects. Where supporting major projects you will be part of a larger WSP team, and will be responsible for developing and managing required client and internal stakeholder relationships. Where supporting advisory led projects you may act as a Project Manager, with the associated responsibilities for ensuring project performance and managing the direct client relationships. In your role you will be expected to engage the wider asset management community within WSP to support its overall strategic growth objectives and collaborate in knowledge sharing and development. Working with rail asset management lead, you will contribute towards the growth of the Rail asset management service offering and capabilities Delivering asset management services across our rail projects in the UK and potentially internationally. Support complex projects, applying expertise in risk-based decision-making, whole-life asset planning, information management and regulatory compliance. Develop relationships with other asset management teams and support the development of our junior resources through mentoring and coaching What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… Practical experience in the management and maintenance of Railway assets, alongside experience in delivering Asset management consultancy / advisory roles Experienced in the technical development and mentoring of people in asset management. A strong understanding of the design and maintenance engineering challenges faced by rail. Experience of working with asset data systems, including configuring or specifying Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Decision Support Tools (DSTs). A demonstrable experience and understanding of asset management practices and theory, and business strategy. Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks affecting rail infrastructure development in the UK. Experience in ISO 55000, asset lifecycle planning, investment planning, risk-based asset management strategies and digital transformation in asset management Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and project teams. Ability to build relationships and work with resources and teams across the business (regionally and internationally). Chartered Engineer or similar.
