Vacancy – Design Engineer
ESS Employment are seeking a Design Engineer to work as a part of a team for our well-established client. The successful candidate would be responsible for the design of new products and components, jig fixtures and related material as directed by the Drawing Office Manager. Suitable candidates will have excellent organisation and communication skills.
Duties
* Utilise CAD software (Solidworks) to create detailed technical drawings and models, components, and jig fixtures.
* Collaborate closely with engineers and other stakeholders to develop innovative and functional designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
* Conduct design reviews and participate in cross-functional team meetings to ensure design integrity, manufacturability, and adherence to project timelines.
* Assist in the resolution of design-related issues and provide technical support to production and quality control teams as needed.
* Report to Drawing Office Manager.
Requirements
* Skilled in the use of Solidworks CAD system to draw up products and jigs fixtures.
* Working to ISO09001:2015.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace, keeping in line with all health and safety requirements.Visiting customer sites as necessary to carry out design duties.
* Able to use office machinery in accordance with manufacturers’ guide.
* Attending meetings and training as required.
* Willing to grow with the company.
* Maintaining and controlling the change record system (DAR).
* Other general office duties as required, including answering the phones.
* Own transport is essential for this role.
