We are seeking a meticulous, enthusiastic and dedicated Laboratory Technical manager to join our team at Mansfield Sand - Two Oaks Quarry. Reporting into the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting their technical staff ensuring the highest quality control, sample gradings, supporting with design mixes and working to maintain the companies 9001 accreditation. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, adherence to the quarries high standards, and the ability to interpret and present the quarries technical information management systems to the senior management team.
Duties
· To implement and maintain the requirements of the QMS ISO9001.
· Quality assurance and customer service.
· Carry out Internal audits and monthly reports for the operations team.
· Produce and maintain the Company Quality Policy.
· Review and maintain existing procedures to ensure they meet the current guidelines.
· Deal with customer complaints and provide support to reps / sales.
· Review and maintain the customer complaints register and reports.
· Provide technical support to reps / sales relating to sports, industrial, construction and equestrian sectors.
· Producing test analysis reports of customers existing materials.
· Produce and maintain the Declaration of Performance / UKCA documents and material safety data sheets.
· Creation and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs).
· R&D into products, plant and processes.
Skills
· Excellent communication skill set.
· Excellent people management skills.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret excel, access, and business central.
· Detailed knowledge of ISO standards particularly 9001.
· Previous laboratory experience is essential and ideally within the heavy industry sector.
· Must be dead line driven and can set goals and targets for their direct employees.
