Are you an experienced physiotherapist ready to take the next step in your career within a dynamic and supportive critical care environment? We are seeking a motivated and skilled Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Adult Therapies team, delivering high-quality care across the critical care pathway.
In this role, you will independently manage a complex caseload of patients with diverse medical and respiratory conditions, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based interventions. You’ll work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and contribute to service development through supervision, training, and audit activities.
You’ll also play a key role in our emergency on-call and weekend rotas, and deputise for the Critical Care Physiotherapy Team Leader when required. This is a physically and emotionally demanding role, requiring resilience, compassion, and excellent communication skills.

* Independently manage a complex caseload of patients with medical and respiratory conditions in critical care settings.
* Conduct advanced assessments and deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including respiratory techniques and assisted ventilation.
* Communicate effectively with patients and carers, overcoming barriers to ensure understanding and informed consent.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to integrate physiotherapy into coordinated care and discharge planning.
* Provide specialist advice and training to colleagues, students, and external partners.
* Participate in and coordinate out-of-hours services, including evening, weekend, and Bank Holiday rotas.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with professional standards.
* Supervise and support junior staff and students through training, appraisal, and clinical education.
* Contribute to service development through audit, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
* Deputise for the Critical Care Physiotherapy Team Leader, supporting operational management and team coordination.
