About The Team And The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Lead to oversee and lead various construction projects, including the development of new Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) and spokes, as well as property improvements within the existing UK portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring these projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
* Procurement strategy and compliance
* Budget Management: create and own the budget for all construction projects between £1-100m, ensure projects are delivered on time and within allocated budget, scrutinise and challenge scope and costs, seek cost‑saving opportunities.
* Project Delivery: coordinate and document user requirements, manage end‑to‑end delivery, manage dilapidation assessments.
* Design and Planning: support design process for new CFCs and spokes, liaise with planning consultants, identify and organise necessary surveys.
* Efficiency and Value Engineering: challenge project scope, identify value‑engineering opportunities, implement opportunities to increase capacity and efficiency.
* Contract Management: take ownership of design and build contracts, ensure they are executed effectively.
Who You Are
* Proven knowledge of different property procurement methods.
* Experience in multi‑million‑pound capex developments.
* Experience with compliance obligations and CDM regulations.
* Preferred experience in building warehouses.
* Strong financial acumen, excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong project management skills, ability to identify and implement cost‑saving measures, strong negotiation and influencing skills, problem‑solving abilities, detail‑oriented, organisational and multitasking skills, leadership and team management experience, proficiency in project management software, strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and legal regulations, ability to read and interpret plans.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Master’s degree or additional certifications in project management is a plus.
* Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or similar credentials are desirable.
