Government of Jersey have an exciting role for an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Psychology Lead to oversee, manage and provide delivery of psychological therapies and research within the Pain Service.

Main duties of the job:
* Works with the Consultant AHP & Strategic Lead to establish service wide trauma informed and relational interventions and innovations for the specialist fields of psychological provision for pain, for the benefit of the hospital and community
* Provides consultation to staff, clients and their families, Associate Chief AHL, HCS Executive and other Healthcare Professionals across the hospital and community relating to specialist service area
* To devise, lead, plan and conduct research and audit activity to direct appropriate service development and policy within specialist field and to inform policy and service development in Pain services. The post holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integration of research evidence into practice
* Design, plan, deliver and review the psychological provision for pain and the wider organisation, engaging stakeholders through co-design principles with the aim of providing up to date and evidence-based learning opportunities and education to HCS & community professionals and the public relating to psychological aspects of pain
* To work as an autonomous Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a highly complex clinical caseload, maintaining a national and international profile of expertise and provide strong professional leadership and clinical supervision skills and monitoring the pain multidisciplinary and broader teams in relation to psychological theory, interventions and innovations
Person specification:
Essential qualifications –
* Post-doctoral research profile demonstrated through consistent peer reviewed publication and conference presentation history
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
* Post doctoral management/ quality improvement/ leadership training required to deliver on role
* Evidence of postgraduate training to Master’s level or equivalent or equivalent in related fields of expertise relevant to Expert level practice in pain management (vocational rehabilitation, cognitive behavioural therapy, bio-psychosocial theory and practice, acceptance and commitment therapy and practice; Mindfulness; Compassion Focused Therapy)
* Registered, approved applied psychology supervisor (e.g. Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors – RAPPS)
* For complex trauma and relational aspects, appropriate accreditation and registration as a therapist/teacher/supervisor with relevant bodies / prof. and accrediting organisations eg. EMDT/trauma focused CBT/CAT/DBT/Schema focused
* Registration with the Department of Health and Community Services and with the Health Professions Council
* Membership of Specialist interest professional bodies including the International Association for the study of Pain, the British Pain Society and the Division pf Clinical Psychologists of the British Psychological Society or equivalent is essential for the pain role
* Undergraduate degree in psychology providing graduate bass for registration (GBR)
