Position: Videographer (Video Editor and Digital content producer)
Pay Rate: £19.59 per hour
Hours: Full time, 37 hours
Duration: until 29th March 2026, with possibility of extension
Start Date: ASAP
Location: The post will be based in Castle Buildings, Belfast however candidates must be willing to travel across Northern Ireland to various locations should the need arise.
Job Duties:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Video Editor and Digital Content Producer will generally work under the supervision of a Deputy Principal. While the precise duties and responsibilities may vary, the main duties and key skills will include: • Filming video footage, this may involve travelling throughout NI and attending site visits to capture footage as necessary. • Editing video footage to create visually engaging and cohesive videos for social media, internal and external websites and events. • Editing and mixing audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to ensure high-quality audio for video projects. • Camera handling, set-up and capturing footage as and when required for the video content. • Trimming footage, inserting dialogue, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects. • Ensuring videos follow a logical sequence, and that ¬final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and meeting accessibility requirements. • Ensuring appropriate content and tone to deliver departmental messaging. • Managing multiple tasks related to video editing simultaneously and meeting deadlines. • Adaptability and willingness to incorporate feedback and make revisions within tight timescales. • Saving and exporting videos in appropriate file formats and ensuring all videos are proofed and signed-off before publication. • Proficiency in video and image editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, or other relevant tools. • Developing a bank of appropriate stock footage for use in departmental videos. • Ensuring appropriate written permission of any individuals featured in videos are granted and maintaining records of permissions. The above list is not exhaustive however it gives a good indication of the main duties of the post. The emphasis on particular duties will vary over time according to business needs.
Essential Criteria:
1. 5 GCSE’s A*-C including Maths and English and one science subject (must be able to show evidence)
AND
2. 1 A higher national diploma or degree in:
• film and television studies
• media production
• film and media2. At least one years’ experience, gained within the last five years, of working with Senior Officials and key stakeholders to develop and deliver engaging video content to promote important announcements, initiatives, news or events.
Desired Experience:
3. At least one year’s practical experience, gained within the last five years, editing for use within digital channels or digital campaigns, to include scripting, planning a shoot, interviewing for film and innovative editing.
