Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist, delivering major infrastructure frameworks. They currently have an immediate requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a recently awarded 5 year framework.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will head up and build the team, with a view to stepping up to Framework Commercial Manager role as the team grows and framework projects are awarded.
The ideal candidate must have a collaborative, relationship building approach to working with the client, other framework contractors and sub-contractors.
Senior Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:
Recruiting, managing and mentoring a commercial team.
Build and develop long-term collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Work with preconstruction team to develop tenders, pricing and programme for framework projects.
Ensure robust, accurate and timely CVR's and monthly reports to the Directors at both project and framework.
Work with site team to review and advise how they can ensure they are hitting budget
Work with project delivery teams to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery and ensure that both are kept in line with the target.
Be responsible for negotiating and awarding subcontracts.
Ensure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions.Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:
Degree or HNC/HND Quantity Surveying or construction related qualification.
Previous Main Contractor experience delivering civil engineering projects within the water sector.
Minimum 5 years' experience working on civil engineering / infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with NEC forms of contract and working within the framework environment.
Experienced procuring and managing subcontractors, including chairing meetings and managing negotiations.
Able to produce accurate monthly forecasts and reports, CVR's, and maintain deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar.
Ability to support, train and mentor junior members of staff.
