Welfare and Attendance Officer
A Good Ofsted secondary school in Solihull is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Welfare and Attendance Officer to join their pastoral support team. This is a key role focused on supporting student wellbeing, improving attendance and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
The successful candidate will monitor attendance and punctuality across the school, following up absences and working closely with students, parents and pastoral staff to improve engagement and attendance outcomes. You will analyse attendance data, identify patterns and support intervention strategies for students requiring additional support.
Alongside attendance responsibilities, you will also provide welfare support for students, contributing to safeguarding procedures and supporting the school’s wider pastoral systems. The role requires someone who can build positive relationships with students and families while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
You will work collaboratively with pastoral leaders, safeguarding staff and external agencies where appropriate to ensure students receive consistent support both academically and personally. Strong communication, organisation and resilience are essential for this role.
