Job Title: Head of PR - Maternity Leave Cover (5 months FTC)
Dates: Monday 1st September 2025 - Friday 30th January 2026
Salary: £60,000.00 per annum
Managing: 2 x PR Managers & 1 PR Assistant
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Head of PR to join our team on a 5-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. This role will include operational/HR duties periodically. The position is based in the London Waterloo office, working 2 days per week (Tues & Weds).
The Head of PR will develop and implement communication strategies targeting current and potential clients in the UK. Responsibilities include strategic planning, issue management in a dynamic environment, and supporting Darby & Parrett’s values and vision through PR activities.
Ideal Candidate:
* Extensive PR experience (10+ years) with a strong network in the food, drink & hospitality industry.
* Ability to understand business challenges and craft effective strategies.
* Strong project management, organization, and attention to detail skills.
* Proven ability to present to senior stakeholders and at client events.
* Creative with a flair for initiating new campaigns.
* Leadership skills to manage and motivate a team, set goals, delegate, and provide feedback.
* Ability to foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
* Excellent multitasking, adaptability, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Experience in operational/HR aspects and making business decisions.
* Strong business acumen and cross-departmental communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
Head of PR:
* Develop and execute PR strategies for the client portfolio.
* Oversee PR campaigns from inception to delivery.
* Monitor industry trends to advise on PR strategy.
* Serve as senior contact for clients, providing strategic counsel.
* Engage with clients to evaluate projects and maintain profitability.
* Manage and support the PR team.
* Build and maintain relationships with press and industry influencers.
Operations/HR:
* Oversee operational and HR functions during COO’s maternity leave.
* Manage client contracts and agreements.
