Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with experience of supporting adults with complex mental health conditions to join the East Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT). The team is a multidisciplinary community‑based service based at Brighton General Hospital, delivering specialist assessment, treatment and care to working‑age adults with severe mental illness.
Job Summary
This role is part of a strategic transformation to an integrated neighbourhood model working with primary care and voluntary sector partners. The successful candidate will bring innovative practice to the team, providing high‑quality clinical care and contributing to the development of the new model.
Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist assessment, treatment and community care to adults with severe mental illness.
* Conduct clinical assessments, risk assessments and develop care plans.
* Provide a range of clinical interventions and support to individuals with complex health problems.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
* Engage in partnership working with statutory and non‑statutory teams and agencies.
* Contribute to clinical governance and the CPA process.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered mental health nurse, occupational therapist or social worker with current UK registration.
* Completion of a Mentorship Course and evidence of continuous professional development.
* Significant post‑qualifying experience in relevant care group and experience working with complex mental health conditions.
* Experience supervising staff and providing a range of clinical interventions.
* Ability to work consultatively with professionals, conduct risk assessments and partner with statutory and non‑statutory teams.
* Understanding of clinical governance and experience of working within the CPA process.
Other Information
* Band 6 – Pay £38,682 to £46,580 per annum (subject to terms and conditions).
* Permanent full‑time contract. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (with flexible working arrangements available).
* Location: Community Mental Health Centre, Brighton General Hospital, Elm Grove, Brighton, BN2 3EW.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (D&B) check required. Applicants must be able to provide a criminal record certificate and undergo a D&B check.
* UK registration is mandatory. All applicants must hold current UK professional registration.
