Job description:
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Cyclical Gully Emptying Operative (non-driver) to join our client’s highways maintenance team. Working as part of a 2-person crew, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient cleaning of gully (drains) across Plymouth as part of the Council’s term maintenance contract.
This is a vital role in maintaining the city’s drainage infrastructure, helping to prevent flooding and ensure road safety for all users.
Operate gully emptying vehicles and associated equipment to clean and maintain roadside drainage assets.
Work from scheduled routes and respond to ad-hoc requests as required.
Accurately record completed work using handheld devices or paper logs.
Carry out basic vehicle checks and report defects.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Liaise with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient service delivery.
Successful candidates for the role of Gully Emptying Operative should have:-

Applicants must have:
4. Full drivers license
5. CSCS card (Preferred)
6. Good timekeeping skills
7. Willingness and flexibility to undertake some shifts out of normal working hours
8. Willingness to carry out other tasks upon request
Hours of work:
Monday – Friday, days or nights.
Rate of Pay:
£ – £ per hour
Overtime at 150% after 40 hours Monday – Friday, nights and Saturdays
Standby payments for being on call Monday – Thursday or Friday – Sunday
These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from:
