This role is focused on our operations. We measure our scope 1, 2 and all scope 3 emissions. We also look at both our direct and indirect (supply chain) biodiversity impacts and wider environmental impacts with a focus on Circular Economy (e.g. plastics, water etc.).
The Carbon and Sustainability Analyst is a key role within the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability, managing the analysis of the University’s sustainability performance with a focus on the University’s greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The role will primarily focus on GHG analysis across scope 1, 2 and all scope 3 emissions as well as reporting and visualisation of the data. In addition, the role might be required to support reporting and measurement frameworks and analysis for biodiversity impacts and potentially other environmental metrics in relation to e.g. plastics, water and circular economy. The position sits within the Sustainability Unit of the Department, reporting to the Deputy Director SRS and Head of Sustainability.
Your skills and attributes for success:
1. Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent formal training in appropriate discipline such as carbon management, environmental management, environmental science, environmental policy, sustainable development, data science or other relevant academic discipline.
2. Significant carbon accounting and reporting experience aligned to the GHG accounting protocol and/ or environmental impact analysis and reporting with a strong GHG component.
3. Advanced excel, data analysis, report-writing and presentation skills.
4. Ability to multi-task with a varied workload, and to deliver timely and accurate work.
5. Experience in report writing, good attention to detail and strong numerical ability and data proficiency.
