WSP is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist, Engineer or Technician to join our rapidly growing Environmental group in London. The role will work closely with our team of environmental professionals and will be integral in providing support for our ongoing environmental projects including site characterization for contaminants, soil/water/vegetation condition assessments, due diligence document review and field assessments, remediation and surface reclamation projects. The position involves working in a close-knit team of dedicated professionals and you will be responsible for planning and carrying out field assessment and data collection exercises and presenting your findings in reports. This role will focus primarily on our upstream oil and gas portfolio, with the opportunity to work in other industries such as commercial, industrial and mining clients. You'll play a huge part in crafting the future of the environmental management practice at WSP - come see for yourself what we have to offer What you will do at WSP Assisting with budget preparation, tracking costs, and providing project status updates and reports for Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments, detailed site assessments, spill assessments and clean-up, and groundwater monitoring; Unsupervised performance of field assignments as authorized by Project Managers and Team Leads; Teaming with project technicians, scientists, contractors and other field personnel to complete on-site environmental project tasks; Collection and documentation of pertinent field data according to industry standards and WSP protocols and procedures; Communicating with clients, service companies, laboratories, government and partners regarding project tasks; Assist with the preparation of technical reports; Ensure implementation of corporate and client safety programs on all projects What you will bring to WSP University degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, technology or related discipline. Eligible for membership in a professional organization (e.g. P.Geo., P.Eng., EIT) is an asset but not a requirement. Understanding of current provincial and federal regulatory environmental guidelines, regulations and directives are an asset. Excellent reporting and interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions. Hardworking, positive attitude and team spirit.
