My client is a very well established environmental consultancy with 80 - 90 specialist staff in Ecology, Arboriculture, GIS, and Climate Change. They have multiple hubs across the country and are open to candidates across the UK, given their extensive nationwide workload. They are seeking candidates at various levels from Consultant to Principal. Currently, their main focus is on Bat surveys and Botany, with upcoming increases in workload related to climate change and Habitat Management.
They are an Employee-Owned Trust, where employees have a stake in the business and receive an annual bonus. Their training programs are excellent, supported by exceptional equipment and facilities, and staff have opportunities to shadow surveys to gain experience in desired areas.
Your new role
Your responsibilities will include contributing to the successful operation of the consultancy, which involves, but is not limited to, completing tenders, managing projects, and building relationships with clients. Main duties may include:
1. Managing large and complex ecological projects to ensure efficient delivery.
2. Leading technical aspects such as EPSL applications, EcIA chapters, and habitat regulation assessments.
3. Producing high-quality deliverables for clients.
4. Documenting relevant experience for protected species licenses.
5. Supporting and providing leadership to junior staff members.
6. Managing survey work by leading the field team.
7. Communicating effectively to ensure project success.
What you'll need to succeed
* A degree in Environmental Management or a relevant subject.
* Experience with ecological surveying and reporting.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Full UK driving license.
