Temporary Staffing Location: Stanmore
Starting Salary: £17.50 per hour (all inc)
The role is responsible for assessing patient care needs, developing appropriate care plans, and implementing and evaluating those plans. The postholder is expected to deliver all aspects of nursing care without direct supervision, while also teaching and supervising both qualified and unqualified staff. Maintaining consistently high standards of care within the department is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individual patients.
* Deliver care using an individualised, patient‑centred approach.
* Ensure all patients receive a consistently high standard of nursing care.
* Participate in admission and discharge planning alongside the multidisciplinary team.
* Act as an admitted nurse for allocated patients.
* Uphold the Trust’s commitment to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
* Comply with RNOH’s requirement for ID verification using scanning technology for key documents (e.g., passports, driving licences).
* Be aware that vacancies may close early if sufficient high‑quality applications are received.
* Adhere to the Trust’s Smoke‑Free Policy, which prohibits smoking anywhere on Trust premises or grounds.
* Ensuring all patient documentation is accurate, comprehensive and maintained to the highest standard.
* Communicating effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure prescribed treatments are delivered safely and promptly.
* Maintaining the safe custody and administration of medicines, and escalating any discrepancies immediately.
* Undertaking extended clinical duties within the unit, as authorised by the Nursing Advisory Committee.
Education and Professional Development
* Assist with the orientation of new staff and nursing observers.
* Take responsibility for your own professional development through research, innovation and attendance at relevant study days.
* Participate in research projects that contribute to the advancement of nursing practice.
* Teach and support colleagues as part of the department’s in‑service education programme.
* Supervise and facilitate the learning of nursing students and other learners within the workplace.
