Location
Based at one of our main offices (Hull - Bridgehead, Leeds, Stockton, Nottingham, or Manchester), with some opportunity for home working (a balance to be achieved to fulfil the role requirements) and a requirement to travel nationally for effective team and commission management and business development.
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm. Willing to consider part time for a minimum of 30 hours per week for the right person.
Salary
Dependent upon experience plus annual bonus, alongside our flexible reward and benefits offer.
Role Overview
The Strategic Property Management Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the growth, delivery, and management of property management and consultancy services within the Strategy Service Area. This role is designed to balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, with responsibilities split approximately 50/50 between delivering consultancy projects and property management advice, and leading business development efforts to expand new client-facing service lines. This balance will be reviewed regularly to ensure alignment with evolving business priorities.
The post holder will work closely with Associate Directors and will form part of the Service Area Leadership Team, contributing to a coordinated and efficient national service offering. They will be responsible for leading projects, engaging directly with clients, and managing a team to ensure high performance and continuous professional development.
A strong understanding of landlord and tenant, acquisition and disposal and valuation matters is essential, as is the ability to provide expert property management advice to both external clients and the Sewell Group and its family of businesses when required.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational capabilities, capable of enhancing current service delivery while identifying and implementing new opportunities for growth. The successful candidate will have proven experience in property management and consultancy, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships. They must be comfortable operating at both strategic and delivery levels, ensuring that services are aligned with client expectations and broader business goals.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership, advice and consultation on the design, development and implementation of projects, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide day-to-day line management of the strategy team staff with specific line management responsibilities to be allocated.
* Implement best practices in project delivery and management, ensuring robust risk management and quality control.
* Monitor and report on project performance, ensuring accountability and transparency.
* Lead client engagements from proposal to project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction and value delivery.
* Design and launch innovative service offerings within their area of expertise, cultivating a strong client base and maintaining a robust pipeline of future opportunities.
* Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, bids, and presentations to secure new projects.
* Produce well thought through tenders/bids for new business opportunities. This will involve engagement with the client, a thorough understanding of the client brief, engagement with the Sewell Advisory team, and compliance with Sewell Advisory proposal standards and processes.
* Lead the successful delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Oversee project lifecycle management, from initial scoping to post-delivery review.
* Design, contribute towards, write and present strategies; plans; feasibility studies; option appraisals; project documentation e.g. briefs, PIDs; bid applications, business cases, capacity modelling studies; rationalisation and utilisation studies; design briefs / tenant requirements; schedules of accommodation; new ways of working, operational policies; etc. for complex projects, as required.
* Provide clients with property management expertise and advice that replaces and better that which they might receive from directly employed staff where required.
* Assist the company’s CEO and Executive Leadership Team (as well as the wider Sewell Group if required) with the management of the company’s own corporate estate including lease and freehold acquisition, disposals and rent reviews.

Essential
* Educated to first degree level in a relevant subject, or significant relevant experience.
* Substantial experience of working within the NHS.
* Experience of managing healthcare estate including significant strategic management at a senior level.
* Team leadership experience.
* Relationship management experience at senior level with external partners.
* A full driving licence, valid in the UK and own transport.
* Excellent people & customer management skills.
* A positive and professional attitude, along with a high-quality approach to service delivery.
* Excellent levels of computer literacy in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Be able to work both as a team member and alone in a busy working environment.
* Have a flexible attitude towards hours worked and interest in supporting the wider team during holiday and sickness periods.
Desirable
* Educated to Masters’ degree level in a relevant subject.
* Substantial experience (non-NHS) public sector bodies/organisations.
* Professional qualification (i.e. RICS, CIOB, RIBA, RTPI).
