We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of the legal department, providing expert legal guidance and support across all business lines of the company. Position Title: Senior Counsel
Reports to: General Counsel UK
Location: London, UK
Key Responsibilities
* Provide authoritative and strategic legal advice to senior management and business teams on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, complex commercial transactions, and dispute resolution.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of complex commercial agreements, such as service agreements, client contracts, vendor agreements, and technology licenses.
* Advise on real‑estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing and development projects. Draft and negotiate relevant documentation and manage due diligence.
* Manage and strategically direct litigation and other contentious matters, coordinating with external counsel as necessary. Identify, analyse, and advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies.
* Ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Stay abreast of legislative changes and proactively advise the business on necessary updates to policies and procedures.
* Assist in corporate governance matters and support board‑related activities.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior lawyers and legal staff, fostering their professional development.
* Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, including finance, human resources and operations, to support business objectives and ensure legal alignment.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience: 8‑10 years of legal experience, preferably with a combination of training in a law firm and in‑house experience in a corporate legal department.
* Education: Qualified solicitor or barrister.
* Legal Expertise: Proven expertise in corporate and commercial law; significant experience in real estate law, including commercial property transactions, is highly desirable.
* Skills:
o Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
o Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a high degree of attention to detail.
o Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
o Demonstrated ability to provide sound, business‑focused legal advice.
o High level of integrity, professionalism and ethical judgment.
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
o Ability to utilise the in‑house AI tool.
