Job Description
We are looking for a Facilities Engineer to join our team based on site in Leicester. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical / mechanical plant and equipment. You will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical / electrical equipment to SFG20 standards.
These will include HVAC systems, UPS Systems, RCD testing, PAT, Lighting, LEV’s and fume cupboards, Boilers and Air Compressors

Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
\t
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities using a CMMS.
\t
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
\t
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory management for critical spares.
\t
Responsible for co-ordination of contractors including issue of Permit to Work.
\t
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
\t
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
\t
Support black building testing and respond to alarms via the Trend BMS
Skills and Experience
Previous experience within a similar role.
\t
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
\t
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
\t
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
\t
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Specific Qualifications
City & Guilds/NVQ - Electrical Installation / Maintenance or equivalent
\t
City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition IEE
\t
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent training
\t
A demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering
\t
Testing and Inspection certification = desirable
\t
Knowledge and experience of BMS, generator, control, lighting systems, and ACOPS L8.

IPAF/PASMA Beneficial
