Do you enjoy working in the community with residents and visitors? We are looking to recruit a Civil Enforcement Officer to join a close-knit team of likeminded professionals. Our Civil Enforcement Officers are the eyes and ears of the local community, patrolling areas and providing advice to residents and members of the public whilst enforcing road traffic orders and issuing parking fines. About you…
1. Capable of lone working safely, previous experience in an enforcement role preferred
2. A keen eye for detail
3. An excellent communicator able to encourage considerate parking, sometimes in challenging situations, whilst providing a high level of customer service
4. Computer literate, you will be able to apply these skills to using a mobile phone with parking software
About the role…
5. To inspect and identify vehicles parked in contravention of parking regulations
6. Issue penalty charge notices where necessary, to ensure our roads are safe and congestion free,
7. Walking several miles per day, outdoors in all seasons,
8. Full training in parking enforcement will be provided, including conflict management
9. Working flexibly on shifts between 8am-6pm weekdays, likely 10am-6pm, with regular evening, weekend and bank holiday work with pay uplifts. Initial training may be within weekday and Saturday 8am-6pm range
Please note, the successful applicant will need access to a private vehicle; be mobile and able to work from various locations with a full, valid UK driving licence and business vehicle insurance cover. This is to enable travel across the county to undertake the full requirements of the role.
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to a standard check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
Civil Enforcement Officerinterviews will be held in the weeks after 7 December and before Christmas 2025. Exact date to be confirmed. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
