A leading and rapidly growing top 20 accountancy firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Peterborough office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, people-focused practice supporting a wide range of ambitious SMEs and corporate clients. The role offers a blend of technical delivery, client advisory, and team support, giving you the chance to take ownership of a varied portfolio while contributing to the continued growth of the firm.
Role Responsibilities
* Preparing financial statements and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
* Producing client approval packs and supporting finalisation processes.
* Assisting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
* Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns.
* Providing general accounting advice and supporting clients with software queries.
* Reviewing junior team members' work and supporting their development.
* Managing deadlines and ensuring all client work is delivered accurately and on time.
Personal Requirements
* 3+ years' experience within an accountancy practice.
* AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive, hardworking approach.
* Confident communicator with the ability to build client relationships.
* Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and Pivot Tables).
* Experience with accounting software such as Sage and Xero (CCH desirable).
* Well organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
* A collaborative team player who supports and motivates others.
