The Families & Singles Service was established to help applicants threatened with homelessness or homeless to sustain their present accommodation or move into suitable private rented accommodation. The service collaborates with partners to improve resilience and housing sustainment under Enfield’s Early Help strategy.
The Homeless Families & Singles team provides expert advice, working closely with courts, solicitors, and Enfield’s legal department to prevent homelessness.
Candidates must have expert knowledge of welfare, homelessness reduction act, housing and homelessness policy and case law, legislation, courts, possession orders & evictions, and homelessness decision making. Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children is also required.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
* Significant experience providing specialist homelessness casework to applicants with complex needs
* Experience working collaboratively to improve outcomes for homeless individuals with complex needs
* Ability to deliver high levels of customer service to homeless applicants
* Experience ensuring casework complies with legislation, strategies, policies, and initiatives
* Knowledge and experience attending court and presenting cases regarding council decisions
* Ability to achieve performance objectives in homelessness casework
* Contribute to the dissemination of best practices within the team and wider service
* Effective communication with stakeholders, applicants, members, and partners
* Deep knowledge of welfare, homelessness, housing policy, legislation, and case law
* Proven ability to deliver service performance and focus on continuous improvement
* Political awareness and understanding of service context
Qualifications & Professional registration:
* High level of education or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Special requirements:
* Ability to positively contribute to transformation within large organizations, services, and teams
