Our school, a highly regarded primary school in Bromley is seeking a dedicated and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a lasting impact on their academic and personal growth. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Your role will involve working closely with the class teacher, SEN coordinator, and other members of the school staff to ensure that each student receives the individualised attention and resources they need to thrive. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: - Assisting students with their learning, both in the classroom and during one-on-one or small group sessions - Implementing and adapting lesson plans and learning activities to meet the specific needs of students with SEN - Providing emotional and behavioural support to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and build their confidence - Maintaining detailed records of student progress and communicating effectively with teachers and parents/carers - Collaborating with the SEN coordinator to develop and review individual education plans (IEPs) for students - Supporting students with personal care tasks, such as toileting, feeding, and medication administration, as required - Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and experience, including: - A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent - Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school or educational setting - A deep understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by students with SEN, and the strategies and interventions that can support their learning and development - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues - Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure - A flexible and adaptable approach, with the willingness to learn and adapt to the changing needs of the students - A patient, empathetic, and nurturing personality, with a genuine passion for supporting and empowering children with special educational needs In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of £90 - £105 per day, depending on your qualifications and experience.
