Role Description
We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with 2+ years of experience to help us develop our online evaluation dashboard. As our core product is evaluating artificial intelligence models, you will work closely with the science and product teams to develop interactive visualizations to help AI scientists discover insights in their data.
As one of our first hires this is a high-impact and high-ownership role. We believe this is an unique and exciting opportunity where you will need to influence our software roadmap, you will have a strong say in how our technical and product roadmap evolves, and you will engage with our users and customers to foster platform adoption.
Key Job Responsibilities
As one of our first hires, you will work closely with the CTO, and you will help shape the design of our platform. The ideal candidate is someone with passion for web development, a with a particular focus on front end design; ideally, you should have previous experience with data visualization, contributed to open source projects, and/or show a strong track record of personal software projects. However, as a full stack role, you are also expected to be familiar with and to help develop and maintain our cloud infrastructure, including AWS/Google Cloud management, back end and API development, and so on.
In detail, your duties will include:
* Build React + TypeScript features for dashboards, charts, and workflows.
* Design and maintain Node.js APIs and services. Own data models with Prisma and PostgreSQL.
* Operate our AWS stack with Terraform. Set up CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
* Define performance and security baselines. Instrument, profile, and optimise.
* Write tests and documentation. Engage with our community on GitHub for issues and docs.
* Collaborate with Science to ship metrics and evaluations.
You will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative while paying careful attention to detail and will enjoy a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Essential Qualifications
* 2+ years of professional experience as Full Stack Engineer
Essential Skills
* Frontend: React, TypeScript, data visualisation experience.
* Backend: Node.js, Prisma, Fastify or similar; PostgreSQL; Caching with Redis.
* Cloud/DevOps: AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, containerization with Docker.
* Languages: Python familiarity for data tooling.
* Practices: Code reviews, Git, testing, deployments, observability. Strong written and spoken English.
Desirable Skills
* Working knowledge of the following:
* Data visualization libraries like D3js
* Microservices
* Monorepo/turborepo architecture
* Docker
* Past experience with open source projects.
* Past experience in community engagement projects.
* Familiarity with Scrum/Agile software development practices.
