We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Accountant to join us at Leonardo as part of our finance team within the Electronic Warfare (EW) Line of Business. This role works directly for the Financial Controller within the Combat Air Sector. As a Project Accountant, you will manage and be responsible for the financial and project reporting requirements for a specific group of projects providing accurate, timely and relevant management information as well as providing advice and guidance to the project teams. You will be part of a business sector delivering solutions to a truly global marketplace. Finance play a key role in the service offering and this is a chance to make a difference as well as satisfy the statutory requirements
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Supporting the Financial Controller with preparation of sector monthly forecasts including assumptions, risks and opportunities and explanation of forecast movements.
2. Supporting the business in producing robust monthly Contract Status Reports (CSRs) and quarterly Sales and Margin Trading Plans.
3. Monitoring financial performance through the Monthly Forecast and Business Planning processes.
4. Working with the Project Team / budget holders to understand forecast, Business Plans and CSR movements.
5. Supporting the business winning team in delivering optimal customer solutions.
6. Reconciling financial data and resolving problems/issues where appropriate to ensure integrity of information provided.
7. Ensuring all financial procedures and controls are applied as required; and supporting non-finance functions on their application.
8. Support the annual update of the Integrated Business Plan and phased budget.
9. Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business to help drive the Finance function forward.
What You'll Bring
10. CIMA, ACA or ACCA - Qualified (will consider part qualified)
11. IFRS 15 knowledge
12. Excellent interpersonal skills
13. Strong communication skills
14. Proactive in approach
15. Ability to re-prioritise to meet key deadlines
16. Focus on high quality output and support
17. Advanced Excel and proficient in MS Office
18. SAP experience advantageous but not essential
19. You will be an enthusiastic individual, eager to do the job and excited about the projects/contracts you will be working with.
This role is a full time role based at our Luton site. There will be the ability for Custom Working, involving some working from home dependent upon the requirements of the functional team that are being supported by this role.
