Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres of milk, drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties.
With the most modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations on a cross border basis, the Group supplies to a broad customer base including some of the world’s foremost ‘blue chip’ companies across the dairy food ingredients, foodservice and consumer food channels on a domestic Ireland, UK, European and global basis. Internationally we export some 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide.
The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland.
Applications are invited for the above position to work as part as Foodservice & Consumer Foods Marketing Team. This role can be based at any of the Foodservice & Consumer Foods sites with regular travel expected.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role is critical to our ambition to be regarded as Food Service & Retail dairy specialists in markets we operate, directly contributing to sustainable profitable growth. By taking full responsibility of all aspects of our product within portfolio within category & generating clear category objectives you will enable delivery of the Foodservice Division’s strategic objectives.
The role is responsible for the development of our butter category range, functionality of our butter across all channels (predominantly bakery in foodservice & consumer butter in retail) to a global market. The role is responsible for the development of new products within category for brand & own label, generated by having a 3-year pipeline that delivers sustainable profitable business growth. The role will be responsible for gathering and interpreting all available data, commission research and develop compelling insights to ultimately grow our category.
The Person
The role requires a candidate to be degree level educated (or equivalent) and have experience working in marketing in UK Foodservice, Retail, MCG markets. A degree-level education in Marketing, Communications or Business discipline would be desirable but not essential. A proven track record in marketing, category management, including brand development & management as well as experience in analysing, interpreting, and presenting data is essential.
It would be advantageous to have knowledge of the butter and dairy industry however this is not essential.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are highly commercially aware with a high level of numeracy skills, manipulation and analysis of data and generation of compelling analysis/insights. Excellent project management skills as well as resilience to deliver complex projects to varying deadlines is essential. The candidate must be a highly creative self-starter who is motivated by a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective networks internally and externally.
Candidates should be prepared to travel to Northern Ireland, Island of Ireland & other customer markets as required.
