We are seeking an experienced and organised Transport Supervisor to oversee daily transport operations, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and high levels of customer service and initiating a project to make routing more efficient based in Reading.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills to join a growing logistics team.
The rate of pay is £36,000 per annum.
This is a full-time role working fixed shifts, Monday to Friday, and the hours of work are: 7am to 5pm.
Your Time at Work
As a Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for:
* Supervise and coordinate day-to-day transport activities
* Maintain the Operating License
* Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and reduce costs
* Ensure compliance with all UK transport legislation, including drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
* Monitor vehicle utilisation, maintenance schedules, and defect reporting
* Manage and support a team of drivers, including performance monitoring and training
* Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and external partners
* Handle transport-related issues, delays, and customer queries
* Maintain accurate records and prepare operational reports
Our Perfect Worker
Our perfect worker will have the following skills:
* Must be able to drive and ideally up to 7.5T
* Previous experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role
* Good knowledge of UK transport laws and compliance requirements
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities
* Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office
* CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification (desirable)
* Flexible approach to working hours
* Experience working in food or FMCG would be great!
* Must have good all‑round Microsoft office skills
