Opportunity
The Energy Works Hull plant processes up to 240 000 tonnes per year of refuse‑derived fuel, producing around 25 MW of baseload electricity and offsetting about 30 000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. We are recruiting for an EC&I Engineer, acting as the Energy Works Hull (EWH) Plant EC&I Engineering Accountable Person. You will ensure compliance with and delivery of the px Group Operating Standard, including functional safety, cyber security, hazardous area management, instrument systems, HV/LV distribution, BPCS and EC&I systems. You will lead and deliver all aspects of EC&I engineering on site.
You’ll receive personalised on‑the‑job training, coaching, mentoring and twice‑yearly development and performance reviews to help you maintain and grow your competence.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for all EC&I engineering and maintenance processes, systems, reporting mechanisms and contracts to identify and manage operational risk, meeting requirements and ensuring effective communication.
* Lead and manage the EC&I engineering and maintenance department and assigned personnel, ensuring safe, timely delivery.
* Supervise, develop, welfare and maintain the engineering and maintenance capability, ensuring technical requirements are met and standards implemented.
* Plan, schedule and execute all works within the discipline group for internal and external resources.
* Liaise with the project team to specify, handover project and major outage works.
* Support the E&M manager in implementing key site processes including CMMS, maintenance workflow, LOPA, cyber security and strategic spares.

Minimum Requirements
* HNC in an electrical, control or instrumentation discipline (or equivalent).
* NEBOSH General Certificate or willingness to work towards.
* Experience in a high‑hazard, 24/7 operational manufacturing environment with significant line management experience in power generation or energy‑from‑waste.
* Professional accreditation with a relevant body, or working towards one.
* Experience leading investigations and audits.
* Experience developing, implementing & evaluating systems, upgrades, improvements and modifications (Management of Change).
* Familiarity with budgetary procedures, including setting and controlling operational and capital budgets.
