We are looking for a talented and motivated professional to lead our Engineering Team, focusing on developing and constructing innovative interconnectors and offshore hybrid assets.
About the Role:
In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for the overall civil design of our new Offshore Hybrid Assets (OHA) across various projects. You'll lead a team of skilled engineers, ensuring design governance across all civil contractors, including civil design houses and construction teams. Your work will directly contribute to creating safe, reliable assets for our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Champion safety by embedding safety-by-design principles into all civil design works.
* Ensure all civil assets comply with legislation and our client’s technical standards.
* Develop new standards where existing guidelines are absent, enhancing our project delivery.
* Provide line management and performance oversight for your engineering team.
What You Bring:
* Proven experience in delivering large infrastructure projects successfully, with a knack for producing high-quality work under tight deadlines.
* In-depth knowledge of the power industry and technical understanding of converter station components.
* A track record of making critical business and operational decisions across varying priorities.
* Experience in building and leading effective project and engineering teams.
Key Interfaces:
* Collaborate with the Leadership Team and interface with converter and cable OEMs.
* Engage with civil works designers and delivery contractors, as well as ancillary system suppliers.
* Work alongside national and international industry bodies and consenting authorities.
Leadership Qualities & Skills:
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
* Ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders and maintain a spirit of teamwork.
* Strong organisational skills to effectively manage multiple work packages and interfaces.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based at our main office in Warwick, with opportunities for national and international travel to engage with project partners and design consultants. Expect frequent site visits to converter stations and cable routes. Currently, team members can work up to 6 days a fortnight from home, with flexibility expected as the project evolves.
