Job summary
An excitingopportunity has arisen to join the community endoscopy team working at our newendoscopy clinic in Chorley. We are looking to appoint a full-time staff nurse(Band 5 equivalent), ideally with some endoscopy experience, to join our team. Youwill be supported by our Nurse Manager and management team to assist with awide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures. Main duties of the job
Admit, recover, and discharge patients following their endoscopy procedures and assist the endoscopist in the procedure room.
Undertake and document a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the patient where appropriate.
Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base.
To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of direct patient care with supervision from senior staff
Assist in policy implementation and support the senior endoscopy team and ASL Managers in the development of the endoscopy service.
Create and utilize opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
Manage a group of patients throughout a shift as delegated by nurse in charge.
Work within the Guidelines and ASL Policies recognising ones own abilities and limitations.
Ensure clear and accurate written and verbal information is given at all times, including patient handovers.
Assist & support with the on-going audits and JAG accreditation.

We deliver diagnostic capacity solutions to the NHS, working in partnership with Primary and Secondary Care commissioners, and commenced clinical services in 2017. Due to an increasing demand for community diagnostics, we have developed premises in Chorley, Lancashire, to deliver endoscopy and other diagnostic services, supporting local Primary and Secondary care partners. The procedures performed will be diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy, including Level 1 & 2 polypectomy and some endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR)

1.Clinical

2.Professional & Managerial
In the absence of senior colleagues manages the Unit on occasions without direct supervision when competent to do so.
Use computerised systems to support the provision of patient care and treatment.
Works within Clinical Governance Standards and ASL Policies.
Ensure that concerns and complaints from patients, visitors or colleagues are resolved where possible and reported to the Senior/Lead Nurse.
To be conversant with all ASL Emergency Procedures
Education and Training
With the support of the Senior/Lead Nurse maintains personal and professional development in line with the
Participates in the supervision and professional development of Health Care Assistants.
Participate in audits to monitor the standards of patient care.
Participates in ASLs Appraisal System.
To take responsibility for own personal development raising any training requirements.
Ensures that the Senior/Lead Nurse is informed of any professional concerns at the earliest opportunity.
Ensures current registration with NMC.
