The Trust is seeking to recruit a full time Consultant for St Helens/Knowsley CRHT Mid Mersey and we are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive colleague to provide dynamic leadership to the service and the Trust as a whole.
This is a new full-time post based in Harry Blackman House Peasley Cross Hospital. The post holder will work collaboratively with our Operational Manager, Clinical Service Manager to provide leadership and clinical expertise to the CRHT and ensure we deliver an excellent, responsive, and high-quality service.
Clinical duties
* Thiswill consistofpatientreviews and homeVisitstoseeurgentoremergency reviewsforpatientsopen totheteamalthoughthe bulkofcaseswillbereviewedonsite.
* Managementofcomplexcasesandconsultativeadviceonpatientcare tootherteammembers.
* ClinicalleadershipofteambyparticipatinginteamMDTstodiscussallocationsofpatientsand dispense the responsibilities under that Role for such patients as per the MHA Code of Practice.
* Careplanandtreatmentformulation,guidanceonevidence-basedtreatmentand effectiveness.
* Liaisonandcollaborativeworkingwithotherservices/agencies.
* MentalHealthActimplementation.
* Multi-disciplinary,multi-agencyandpartnershipworking.
* MaintainContemporaneousdocumentationelectronicallyonpatientrecordsandalsotimely communications with primary care colleagues.
General duties
* The post holder would be expected to work on Rio, the Trust’s electronic health record system; record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively in a timely fashion, undertake an annual appraisal, CPD, and maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council. It is essential that the post holder has Mental Health Act Section 12(2) status.
* The post holder will participate in annual job plan review with the Clinical Director, considering service configuration, delivery and modernisation. They will also involve in Revalidation as required, work with local colleagues and managers ensuring efficient running of services, and comply with the Trust’s policies, procedures, standing orders, and financial instructions.
* The post holder will participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.
External duties
* TheTrustactivelysupportstheinvolvementoftheconsultantbodyinregionaland national groups subject to discussion and approval with the Medical Director and, as necessary, the Chief Executive Officer.
Other duties
* From time to time, it may be necessary for the post holder to carry out other duties as may be assigned,withagreementbytheTrust.Itisexpectedthatthepostholderwillnotunreasonably withhold agreement to any reasonable proposed changes that the Trust might make.
