1. Act as the management representative for Health & Safety and Environmental Management.
2. Report on the performance of the management system at review meetings and liaise with external parties on related matters.
3. Promote best practices in health and safety, and environmental performance across the organisation.
4. Doing risk assessments and audits, checking that machinery and equipment are safe and that management systems and working methods meet current legal standards
5. Explaining regulations in areas such as occupational health; noise, dust and fumes; fire safety and moving and storing dangerous materials, and making sure that everyone follows them
6. Identifying possible dangers and unsafe working methods and suggesting ways to tackle them
7. Delivery of training courses to encourage and promote safe working practices
8. They have the full authority to stop any work where they feel that it is having and/or has the potential to have a negative effect on the environment, the health & safety of individuals or the quality of the work.
