Vacancy: Administration Assistant, Careers Wales

Are you looking for a job where you work in a team that inspires and supports people to think about their future career? We are looking for flexible and customer focussed individuals to join our team to provide the administrative support to allow us to meet our customers' needs.

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd (CCDG) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Welsh Government. We provide an essential, all-age, independent, impartial and bilingual careers guidance and coaching services in Wales, including the Working Wales service.

Candidates for this vacancy must have a minimum of Intermediate level Welsh language skills.

Job Role: Administration Assistant

Base: Neath Careers Centre

Hours of work: hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary Scale: £25,957 - £26,131

Starting Salary: £25,957 per annum.

Closing Date: Midnight on the 26/02/26.

The successful applicant will be required to provide efficient and effective administrative and reception support to our Working Wales team.

Applicants must demonstrate the following:

* Welsh Language Skills i.e the ability to follow every day and work‑related conversations and take part confidently in discussions, hold longer chats on familiar topics, describe experiences and plans, and read and write clear, straightforward emails or messages to request information, share updates, invite others, or organise activities.

* Effective communication skills and ability to deal with queries (telephone, e-mail and face-to- face) from members of the public, internal staff and key stakeholders.

* Commitment to showing excellent customer service.

* Ability to deal with non- routine enquiries where negotiation and persuasion may be required

* Demonstrable ICT Skills

* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and various deadline demands

* Ability to use initiative and judgement in day-to-day duties

* Ability to work as part of a team

Although Neath will be the base location for this role the postholder will be expected to cover other Careers Centres e.g. Swansea and Llanelli.

As part of the training programme for the role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship, if not already in possession of this qualification.
