Offer description

We are seeking a pro‑active Sales Manager to join us in the operational preparation and execution of our events and meetings. You will be an integral part of the team and will work closely with the wider Renaissance team on a daily basis.


Duties

* Lead the annual hotel and sales business strategy.
* Maintain a comprehensive database of sales activity using a computerised system; record all activity, ensure revenue‑generating activities are repeated, and review unsuccessful strategies.
* Attend weekly and monthly commercial strategy meetings; take the lead where appropriate; join regular meetings with the Managing Director to review personal activity and targets.
* Conduct regular market research, continuously develop new leads and routes for generating revenue.
* Act as a company ambassador and explore all commercial opportunities: client appointments, product show‑rounds, fam trips, group hospitality events, networking events, community representation, tele‑sales, social media presence, exhibitions, etc.
* Execute the full proactive sales journey, including identifying, securing, and maintaining revenue‑generating business; take personal accountability for securing and contracting business.
* Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Festival & Events Manager on new sales strategies and incentives to maximise all company promotions.
* Support associated departments in fostering a one‑team culture and maximise revenue opportunities.
* Conduct competitor analysis; identify business levels, rate strategy, promotions, marketing avenues, refurbishment plans; communicate findings and react as appropriate.
* Raise the profile of The Renaissance amongst MICE and hospitality associations to support the commercial strategy.


Skills & Qualifications

* Strong sales and commercial employment history.
* Experience in representing MICE and corporate offerings.
* Proven ability to spearhead proactive sales efforts.
* Natural company ambassador; confidently represents business in any professional setting.
* Competency with a variety of commercial systems.
* Acute financial awareness; able to contribute to budgeting and strategy processes.
* Ability to multitask and juggle differing priorities among multiple stakeholders and brands.
* Education: A‑Level or equivalent (preferred).
* Experience: Retail sales 1 year (preferred); Customer service 1 year (preferred).
* Licence: Driving licence (preferred).
