Robert Half is proud to be partnering with a dynamic and high-profile company in the sporting/media sector in the search for a Finance Manager. This newly created position arises from an internal promotion and offers a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Assistant Accountant or Management Accountant looking to step up into their first Finance Manager role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, thrive in deadline-driven environments, and be equally comfortable diving into the detail and contributing commercially.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-day transaction processing in Sage, including supplier and sales invoices, bank transactions, and credit card activity
2. Managing supplier payments and overseeing cashflow
3. Performing supplier statement reconciliations
4. Supporting the month-end process, including ledger reviews and balance sheet reconciliations
5. Conducting regular bank reconciliations
6. Administering monthly payroll
7. Preparing monthly VAT returns
8. Assisting in the preparation of management information, board reports, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
9. Supporting the production of statutory accounts in collaboration with external accountants
10. Driving system and process improvements, including the implementation of a new accounting system and improving cost controls
Skills & Qualifications:
11. Actively studying or finalist in ACCA / ACA / CIMA
12. Proven experience in preparing management accounts
13. Sage experience is highly desirable
14. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
15. Collaborative and proactive team player
16. High attention to detail with a willingness to review and take ownership of one's work
17. Adaptable to process changes and keen to identify opportunities for increased efficiency
