About the School
The Governing Body of New Brighton Primary School wish to appoint a School Business Manager to start in June 2024 to lead their financial operations. We are looking for an experienced professional, who has a self-driven approach to problem solving and high-level communication, literacy and numeracy skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with enthusiasm and drive to join the senior leadership team at New Brighton Primary School.
The successful post holder will work alongside committed and like-minded colleagues in the school to provide strategic leadership and management at school level regarding all aspects of finance, administration, HR, and operational support. About the Role
Job Purpose:
* Be responsible for / manage the operation and delivery of support services within the school, including financial support.
* Be responsible for / manage the planning, development and monitoring of support services.
* Management of staff, including commissioning and delegation of relevant activities.
* Member of the school’s senior management team.
* 1. Responsible for the development, management, operation and delivery of support services within a large school or cluster of schools
* Responsible for the financial planning, forecasting and expenditure of a large school support staff budget.
* Responsible for the creation and implementation of recruitment, induction, performance management, training and mentoring systems for all support staff.
* Leads on the development of school policies and supporting procedures and practices setting up a framework to ensure the smooth operation and timely delivery of all school support functions, in consultation with the operational needs of the school.
* Responsible for the content and submission of relevant information to the senior management team, the governing body and outside agencies.
* Manage procurement and be responsible for securing relevant sponsoring and partnership arrangements adding value and financial benefits to the school.
* Identify the need and be responsible for securing appropriate licences and insurance.
* Responsible for devising effective marketing and promotion strategies for the school, including organisation of events and open days.
* Lead the development of health and safety plans within the school.
* Responsible for the management of facilities, including use of major building premises and associated income.
* Assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection
* Take a lead role in the development of a Disaster and Recovery Plan.
* Commission appropriate payroll and management information systems, and be responsible for their effective operation.
* Develop work specifications and manage service contracts.
* Be aware and support equal opportunities for all.
* To be a proactive members of the school team, contributing to the overall ethos / work / aims of the school.
* Share expertise and skills with others.
* Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
* Attend termly Governing Body meetings

Personal Qualities
* Administrative, financial or accounting qualifications equivalent to national qualifications level 6, or Advanced Diploma of School Business Management
* Excellent Numeracy / Literacy Skils
* ICT Qualifications
* Ability to make independent decisions in relation to the development and operational delivery services within school
* Management experience involving varied activities across a range of functions including administration, finance and HR
* Business and financial management of school resources
* Financial preparation and planning, forecasting and expenditure of a large school support budget
* Successful team management and leadership
