Job Description
East Sussex County Council is seeking a Senior Trading Standards Officer to join our ambitious Trading Standards team, working alongside dedicated professional colleagues to ensure the highest standards of trading and the highest level of consumer protection. As a Trading Standards Officer you will report to a Senior Trading Standards Officer and play a key role in delivering Trading Standards services across East Sussex.
You will be responsible for the enforcement of the full range of Trading Standards legislation, including responding to complaints and enquiries, undertaking proactive work, sampling goods and services, inspecting businesses, providing business advice, and investigating alleged offences.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain your own caseload.
* Represent the authority at a regional and national level.
* Enforce Trading Standards legislation.
* Respond to complaints and enquiries.
* Conduct proactive inspections and sampling.
* Provide business advice.
* Investigate alleged offences.
Qualifications
* Professional qualification in Trading Standards Level 6 (DCATS/DCA/DTS/CPCF or equivalent).
* Experience in the Trading Standards role.
