Location: Emsworth

Salary Scale: £13.80 to £ 15.00 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Emsworth. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to offer personalised support to students with a range of needs. In this role, you'll be an integral part of our team, helping students reach their full potential, both academically and personally.

About the Academy:

A specialist secondary school in Emsworth where every pupil’s journey is unique. Children come here with moderate learning needs, physical or sensory challenges, language difficulties, or are on the Autism Spectrum. Within this safe and nurturing environment, they are encouraged to grow not only academically, but also physically, emotionally, and socially. Each child has an EHC Plan, ensuring the right support is always in place to help them thrive. Key Responsibilities of a Support Worker:

* Provide personalised support to students with a variety of physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
* Assist students with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as needed.
* Support students with daily living activities, fostering independence and promoting a sense of well-being.
* Work closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals to create and implement care plans that meet the specific needs of each student.
* Encourage and facilitate social interactions, community involvement, and leisure activities to improve quality of life.
* Provide emotional support and build trusting, respectful relationships with students to ensure their safety and comfort.
* Document and report changes in students' health, behaviour, or well-being as required.

Requirements for the Support Worker role:

* Previous experience in a care/support role, especially with individuals who have complex needs, is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
* A patient, caring, and compassionate attitude toward working with vulnerable individuals.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of individuals.
* Relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to complete training.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a strong focus on person-centered care.
* A valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one.

To work with GSL Education as a Support Worker, you should:

* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
