Overview
As a Graduate Environmental Advisor at Farrans, you'll work closely with the Head of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) to help improve the company's environmental performance. Your role will include supporting Environmental Advisors, working with various teams and partners, auditing and measuring environmental efforts, helping with reports, sharing best practices, and coordinating activities within the SHE team. You'll need strong people skills and the ability to influence others to make sure SHE principles are part of everything Farrans does.
Responsibilities
* Implementing and operating SHE management standards and processes.
* Working to assist the SHE team and multiple stakeholders and locations
* Assisting with project and company reporting on Environmental / Sustainability performance
* Assisting with BREEAM / CEEQUAL requirements on projects
* Supporting the development of continuous improvement practices including SHE alerts, communication and knowledge sharing
* Assisting with the monitoring of the completion of corrective and preventative actions and the close-out of NCRs
* Supporting the Environmental Advisors regarding regulator queries and requests
* Supporting Environmental Advisors with permitting and consent requirements
* Developing Site Waste Management Plans and Construction Environmental Management Plans for projects
* Assisting with Environmental Auditing and environmental mitigation / protection on Farrans sites including management of issues such as noise, water management, ecology, carbon and waste management
* Assisting with the preparation of post-audit reports and identifying actions to project and company management teams
* Assisting with Bid Submissions and written responses to ITTs and PPQs
* Promoting and acting on Farrans’ ethos ‘Nothing is so important that we cannot take the time to do its safely’ demonstrating a consistent approach to SHE expectations
Qualifications
* Hold a bachelor’s degree, HNC or HND in an Environmental discipline.
* Hold a full UK manual driving license.
* Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Management
* Passionate about environmental protection and conservation
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Capable of working on own initiative and as part of a team
* Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organisational skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
